Chapter of the Year at Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. 

Southern Regional Conference

The members of the Madison County (MS) Alumnae Chapter recently traveled to Nashville, TN for the 2018 Southern Regional Conference of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. The chapter boasted over 65 conference participants and walked away with four regional awards including Chapter of the Year in its membership size category (large). Other awards included a Highest of Five and two Distinguished Service awards in the areas of Economic Development and Political Awareness and Involvement. The chapter also presented over 700 pairs of shoes for the regional conference public service activity for the Nashville-based Soles4Soles charity. Members of the chapter had prominent roles at the conference including, Charence Higgins who served as the conference step show MC, Daphne Monix Higgins who serves as the Southern Region Protocol and Traditions Chair, and Katrina B. Myricks who was elected at the conference as a member of the 2020 Southern Regional Nominating Committee. Chapter President, Dr. Jennifer M. Riley, says she is proud of accomplishments of the chapter which recently celebrated its 10 year anniversary. The chapter serves Madison County, MS communities, including Canton, Camden, Farmhaven, Flora, Gluckstadt, Madison, Ridgeland and Sharon.
